Try these two exercises to stretch and relieve toe pain. Therapeutic relief after a full day on your feet, or from tight, uncomfortable shoes.

This one's for the big guy. It's important to maintain a wide range of motion in your big toe.

Here's how you do it:

 

  • Sit up straight in a chair, with your feet flat on the floor.
  • Bring your left foot to rest on your right thigh.
  • Using your fingers, gently stretch your big toe up, down, and to the side.
  • Remain in this position for five seconds.
  • Repeat this ten times before switching to your other foot.

    This stretch will help to strengthen all parts of the feet and toes.

    To do this exercise:

    • Sit up straight in a chair, with your feet flat on the floor.
    • Keeping your toes on the floor, raise your heels. Stop when only the balls of your feet remain on the ground.
    • Hold this position for five seconds before lowering your heels.
    • Now, raise your heel and point your toes so that only the tips of the big and second toes are touching the floor.
    • Hold for five seconds before lowering.
    • For the last part, raise your heel and curl your toes inward, so that only the tips of your toes are touching the floor. Hold this position for five seconds.
    • Improve flexibility and mobility by repeating each stage ten times.
